I have always enjoyed having a sport to dedicate myself to and encourage me to stay active. I have been doing Muay Thai since I was eight, in 2018, 6 years ago. I was the first child to take the Junior Tigers classes. Then at 10 years old, I was moved up to take the 13+ All Levels classes.
It took me awhile to realise how much I appreciate Muay Thai. I tried T-ball, Tennis, Swimming, Karate, Rugby, and Netball, but I have always been more passionate in practicing Muay Thai.
When I got the chance to see other fighters not much older than me in a league, I realised I had opportunities to fight and train sooner than I thought I would, so I pursued Muay Thai that much more.
I completed my first grading at 12 years old and my fourth grading at 13 years old, doing each grading every 3 month to get my green singlet within a year. I take part in the Rising Stars training program and the sparring day at the end of each program.
Muay Thai had a tremendous impact on me on me, giving me confidence to speak up and act for myself. It became a goal for me, to become better, stronger, and faster.
I am grateful for the SSMT community. I work in sales, administration, and teach junior tigers’ classes. I want to encourage everyone to train here, whether they want to fight or maintain fitness. I know the SSMT community will help them achieve their goals just like they did for me.
