Our Teaching Objective
Once a martial art, Muay Thai has transformed itself over hundreds of years to become a popular fitness activity worldwide, meaning that you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy all the benefits that Muay Thai has to offer.
Our aim is to ensure that Muay Thai is taught and trained in a way that has our everyday members looking and moving like a real fighter. This allows for enjoyment of all the benefits created by this style of training, without requiring members to compete.
Secondly as part of our training structure, members are exposed to effective self-defence applications combined with competitive and sporting components, providing a broad overview to the variety of Muay Thai.
You will lose weight, gain muscular strength, increase motor skills, improve flexibility and mobility. This will also have a positive effect on other aspects of your health, improving blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
Fully Graded Syllabus
We understand that our members need goals in order to challenge themselves.
Our Muay Thai classes are not taught in an ad-hoc manner. Instead, our class content is derived from a syllabus which provides for consistency and structure in the presentation and learning of techniques, and subsequent assessment. In addition, the syllabus distinguishes and ranks various levels achieved by members.
In addition to our teaching objective above, our grading system is designed to assist members achieve the following outcomes:
-Greater application of self-defence and combat skills
-Increased fitness levels
-Coordinate and develop training routines that enhance time management
-Understand, develop and provide instructing/teaching skills, through a program that allows for replication
-Enhance and compliment character by encouragement of positive values
We actively provide advice and knowledge to all members in order for them to achieve their goals. Part of this process involves providing encouragement, guidance and constructive feedback.
Attitude & Ego Free Community
Our gym is a community of individuals. There are no ego’s, no attitudes and no ‘meat heads’ flexing in front of mirrors. Males and females are equally welcome.
